SUCCESS

I have received so much help from this group I would like to do some financial support. How can I go about that?

Downshifting doesn't hurt the transmission or clutch unless it's done abusively- like 4th to 1st at 50 mph and drop the clutch. I saw a Focus clutch blown into pieces when the driver shifted 5th to 2nd instead of 5th to 4th as he intended, the pcm indicated maximum engine speed. Using a lot of engine braking puts ferocious pressure on the piston skirts, too. Gradually shifting down as you lose speed is fine.
We're all happy to give advice based on our experience, often from things we learned the hard way, so we can keep our trucks running. I spent my working life in a Ford service department and I've learned things here.

FYI
depending on which type of pressure plate your clutch has,

the straps are designed to pull while under power, not so much pushing while engine braking.

I started bank drafts this morning. I love you guys and definitely don't want the doors to close.

Congrats on the fix!

I engine brake by downshifting, but someone told me a long time ago that “Clutches are on the inside and harder to fix, and brakes are on the outside and easy to fix.”

My thoughts exactly 🤣

O man. This fell out of one of the boxes I received my parts in. What did I forget? Do I have to drop my transmission again? I'm so mad I did not see this!!!

What came in the box that it fell out of?

Honestly I have no idea. I was breaking them all down, got them broke down and it was lying on the floor. I received my clutch and pressure plate in one box and slave in another.....

I'm going to assume it has something to do with the slave. Is it possible to check and see what all was included with the slave? May say somthing like, "o-ring seal for blah blah blah".

If you don’t have a hydraulic oil leak, then it is probably extra. Might even have been for somebody else’s order and fell into your box by accident. At the moment, I dont recall any o-ring that needs to be installed when doing a clutch slave cylinder on an M5OD.

I think that goes on the end of the hose where it plugs into the slave. If it's not leaking I'd consider it a spare.

looks about the size for the slave cylinder connector, maybe.

I replaced my clutch about 7-8 years and 186,xxx miles ago. no O-ring used,

That looks like a new O ring for the end of the hose, since you replaced the master with a bled assembly you already have a new O ring there so don't worry about it
