I just got a new-to-me 2005 FX4-II with the Pioneer unit. I'm told there's a subwoofer in the console, but judging from the sound, it's not working. I don't think it's blown - I know what a blown speaker sounds like ;) . Is there a switch for it, or a menu item that turns it on or off? I hate to tear the dash apart to look at the wiring...

If that is an after market stereo and the sub is factory then it won't work through the stereo adapter. It is a pain to get the after market stereo to communicate with the factory amplifier. The only way I know to do it is get an aftermarket amp and wire it to the factory sub, of course with the RCA cables, power and ground and remote amp turn on wire.

Nope - Factory Pioneer stereo, Factory sub-woofer. Good point about the separate amp though - might be the power to the subwoofer amp is gone. Will check fuses, etc.

have you looked in the console to see if the sub is in it yet?
