So this is the second stereo I have put into a Ranger but the first that im atempting to add a subwoofer to. So far my system consist of a Alpine cda-105 with the 45x4 Alpine power pack. Infinity 6x8 Components in the front doors (they look really nice with the custom tweeters mounted) and Infinity coaxials in the rear doors. I have been really pleased with it but I love my music, mostly classic rock like Allman brothers, Doobie brothers, CCR, Trex, and some newer rock like Ben Harper and slightly stoopid. Anyway point is I need bass. I have come across a Infinity 600watt at 2ohms amp and im thinking of hooking it to an Infinity kappa 100.9w sub. That sub in particular says it need .75 cubic feet sub box. Is it a big deal if i get a box thats a little bit bigger? I found a box I like thats .85 cubic feet. I dont really want to build my own, not because i cant just because i already have many projects (67 Fairlane, 77 Trail 90). If anyone could help me that would be great. Thanks everyone.

Thats what I figured. Just thought i might double check, see what someone else thought. Thanks again.

personally, i would just put an infinity basslink into it. that should be more than enough bass. but thats just my opinion.

www.sonicelectronix.com has the best price on them

.1 cf shouldnt be that much of a difference. if anything, youll gain a little bottom end. if your sub does start to bottom out, you can add pieces of wood to use up some space inside the box.

pill the box with polyfill. i forget the amount off the top of my head but it takes up airspace in the box for situations just like yours .

no littleme.... Thats going the WRONG way!!! That makes the box bigger!!! Just add some wood like a person said earlier.

i stand corrected i dont know why i was thinking it would make it smaller. i think cuz the last box i took it out of was way to big of the subs that were in it.

it wouldnt take you long to build the right size box...or just find someone local to do it...its not gonna make a ton of difference unless its a ported box and then your gonna throw off tuning

I just got the sub today Infinity Kappa 100.9w and I installed it in the .85 box I had. Wow am I impressed. It hits really clear, Im sure if I had the .75 box like Infinity recommends it might be even better which I think Im going to look into. I might build my own however I currently dont have time because of school and I am trying to get my Fairlane moving but for now the .85 sounds good. I now have that system I always wanted. Thanks everyone for your advice/help.

as long as the 1/10th of a cubic foot of extra space doesnt allow your sub to reach its mechanical limit, then your fine. id bet the difference is 1 decibel or less. glad your satisfied with your setup
