I just picked up this new, to me, 1989 Ford Ranger XLT. Now I have a little question. In driving around town, the truck runs fine, when I get up to 45 to 55mph, I will occasionally stutter with it being the worst at 55mph. It smooths out again around 60mph, with only an occasional stutter. The tranny was just gone through about 3 months ago.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

how old are the spark plugs and wires, cap and rotor? sounds like an ignition problem to me. could be a bad coil also.
