Stupid Question

Where's the factory jack tucked away on a '94 ext. cab (4x4 w/ 4.0 and 5spd if it matters)? Truck didn't come with a user's manual and I'd like to find it while I don't need it rather than when I do. I found the crank/handle right up front along side the hood brace, but haven't found the jack or lug wrench yet. Can someone let me know where to look for both?

Check behind the seats in the Ext Cab. Prolly Passenger side. Its there somewhere.

Do you have rear seats, or little storage compartments? On my '93 its in the a storage compartment (passenger) under a false bottom. Says jack on it. If you have rear jump seats I have no clue where they would be.

If he has rear jump seats, they'll be behind the passenger side jump seat. At least thats where they were on my '96.

Yup, I have the rear jump seats. I'll look in there. Lug wrench in there too you think?

By the way - I just assumed that big long hand crank was for the jack - it is, isn't it? Do you need it to lower the spare too?

And I dunno if it will come with a lug wrench, mine didnt have one. I need to swap in a four way. Apparently half my nuts are 3/4 and half are 1/2.. I need to fix that haha.

I did keep a regular wrench (1/2) in the back tucked under my tire but someone stole it. From now on I'm keeping them inside the cab until I can get a tool box or locking cap.

Ok, I dragged my lazy butt out into the cold to look. Both jack and lug wrench were tucked in behind the passenger jump seat.

The jack handle is not used to lower the spare tire. You use the lug wrench to undo one bolt and the tire is supposed to swing down. Most of the time however they are so rusted that they need some considerable help to "swing" down.

Yeah, my lug wrench (Don't knwo about other Rangers) could be better. I would suggest to go with a 4 sided one like koda6966, I haven't had to use it on the road, but when I changed my brakes at my house, I had a hard time getting the lugs out because the of the way the wrench is shaped. It could have been made at least with a perfect 90* angle, but it is not. The only thing I could probably find good use for my current wrench is for protection.

Had to cut mine off..

Now if I put the tire under the truck I have to chain it down or it bounces all over hell. Even then it gets loose. I need a locking cap or a bed carrier, right now it's just tied to the side in the bed since I don't want to lose it going down the road from it falling out of the underbed carrier.

Do what I did, Put a damn piece of 110 Wire! Does the job.
