well in a fit of anger yesterday, i shoved my shift lever into first gear, as i did it i realized it traveled too far! now it wont come out of first! i think the bottom of the shift lever has come out of the socket in the trans which does the shifting, thus jaming the whole enchilada! i am hoping i can remove the shifter and put it back into place. has anyone else had this problem?

oh yeah, its a 88 ranger 2wd 5 spd.

when i picked up my r1, the retard pulled the shifter out in first then put it back in so mine would not shift into any gear, i would take the shifter out and make sure the rails are aligned by looking at the two buttons in there, they need to be in the center position, then put the shifter in and hope for the best, hopefully nothing is broken, good luck

:note to self:

i gotta take it easy on this tranny, cant afford to have to replace it!

that wasnt too bad though, the toughest part was getting to the front torx screw since it was stuck in first the shifter was in the way, but i gots it fixed! :icon_thumby:
