Sometimes after I start my truck, it stumbles and even sometimes stalls, like it's out of gas. It seems like it almost has to be something related to the fuel pump. Has anyone had this happen before? I know the fuel pressure regulator is in the tank, could it be related to that?

My 93 motor does the same thing I have to be patient or it will die first thing in the morning.Don't know whats wrong either but it does feel like it runs out of gas I think its a common problem

Checked your IAC? Could be wrong with newer models, but I thought the FPR was still mounted to the side of the throttle body. The pump is in the tank.

IAC was replaced recently. I swapped the fuel pump relay with another one, and no change.

The fuel pressure regulator is in the tank on 98+ rangers, btw. It's gotta be either that or the pump, I'm just not sure which.

well, I bought a pump, and I'm gonna toss it in monday, I'll let you know how it goes

If you turn the key to the run position and wait for the fuel pump to finish cycling does it still have this problem?

The drain back valve can stop working letting the lines drain back into the tank, causing this issue. I know my 91 has the issue every now and then if you just jump in and crank it. It will start, stumble and die.

Same issue here. Really pissing me off.

actually, its seems to start better after I let it sit for awile. Every morning it starts and runs fine, but if I start my truck after it only sits for a couple minutes, it almost always stumbles, and sometimes dies.

Remove and put back all your relays, My fuel pump relay has caused me many a problems trying to start, as soon as I take it out and put it back in she starts beautifully.

EDIT:
I believe this applies to your situation as when I start my ranger up it'll sit for maybe 10 seconds then act like it's out of gas, and sometimes it wont start at all, like I said as soon as I unplug and plug my relay it usually starts and won 't have this problem until the next time I go riding around and turn my truck off after bouncing around the ride to where I was going haha.
