just put an 88 turbo coupe in 89 ranger. witch pins do i need to change (running stock 89 ranger wireing harnes) .to get it to fire
/

the wires from the VAM, boost controller, intake air temp sensor and a couple others, and I'll assume youre going to use the distributor and stuff? if you have the TC harness nearby, trace their wires back to the computer and pull them out of the ECM, put them in the ranger ECM connector and splice the wires that need to be spliced.

also, the map sensor looks an awful lot like the barometric sensor, but use the baro sensor off of the car...

I'll try to look up some stuff for you if noone else speaks up between now and then

yes i am still usein the distributor. the tc car is in the scrap yard . so im stuck with the harness for the truck

you'l at least need the sensor and connector for the VAM, from there if you have a couple wires from another harness you can splice them together...

ok i got the vam. ive been serchin for a week on witch wires to repin . cant find anything . im gettin ready to send the truck to scrap im getting flusterd with it . can anyone help

Do you have the wiring diagram for your 89 ranger and the diagram for the 88 turbocoupe?
You do have the TC computer, right?

have no diagrams for ither car, truck. the t.c is long gone. i didnt get the computer out of it . didnt think i needed it. i found this how to on stinger proformance. but it swapin it into a 91-93 mustang. thats the closest ive come to finding any help on what i need to do

i'll see what i can find for you. without the diagrams it's pretty much impossible. you will need a tc computer. see if you can find an la2, lb2, or la3 on ebay or in a wrecking yard.

also, do you have the VAM and injectors from the TC?

There's a pinout for both in the tech library under "2.3 turbo swap"

But yes, you need the VAM, fuel injectors, and computer from the turbocoupe at a minimum.

found a vam . and the injectors are still on the motor. i need to have a comp out of a tc?

yea u need the comp. i dont think u can use the ranger comp with that wiring set-up.

ok. since im stuck with no comp . im going full stand alone. Any recomedations on witch is best for thes 2.3s? aem. sds ,. haltech?

trust me, it will be far easier to find one on ebay or turboford than to go standalone.

you are really going to get in over your head if that's what you are planning. no offense intended, but you really need to read a lot more.

http://www.turboford.net/faq/index.shtml

start here. the info isn't really current, but is still true.
