I have a 95 Xplorer Eddie Bauer with the deluxe heat/ac controls.
It will not change temperature. As you change it from 60 to 80 there's no difference. It just keeps blowing heat. I have no trouble with vaccuum working the flapper, when you shut if off it opens and the same with the A/C on. But as soon as you turn the heater on, hit any selection, it closes and of course stays at the high temp. Why the hell didn't they just stick to manually operated cables! :icon_pepsi:

Thanks...
Mark

Sorry man, I didn't even notice that. I musta been one key off on the keyboard.

I think it said "At least it's the right time of the year" or something.

Hehe... that's ok man. Right time of the year is pretty accurate too. Just too bad that ford heaters work so damn well... whew! :)

Yeah.. except mine takes about 15 minutes to start working right after the truck warms up. And by then, it has two settings. Hot as hell, or off.

I'd throw up some input on the issue, but my Ranger is the 1993 version, so it has the mechanical switches and whatnot. I'm kind of hoping that bumping this thread with random info will inspire someone else to post in it that knows what the problem is, or can take a good guess. :D

Thanks man, I gave you a +rep for the help. Hopefully it'll work!

As far as yours taking so long to work do you maybe have a higher ratio of antifreeze/water? Just a shot.

Right now I'm running pure water. I'll be switching over to 50/50 on Saturday when I head into town.

Well that's different cuz the water is going to heat up quicker than the anti-freeze.
The numbers following your name... would that happen to be your b/d?

Nope, just some random numbers. It was at one time associated with my AIM screen name, but I got hacked and had to switch screen names.

Have to checked your switches to make sure there isn't a lose wire?

Yup, I checked the wires. There are two plugs going into the back of it with a total of mabye 15 between the two. I was thinking that maybe one had come loose from the plug socket but no... that'd be too easy. I'm going to have to assume that maybe it just burned out. Time for a j/y trip I guess. I don't remember seeing one like mine the times I've been there tho. Maybe the cash for clunkers deal will bring me luck... I'll find out today!

BTW... your truck looks pretty good. My B2 had them damn flames on it when I bought it, other than that it's in great shape.

Hi. When I was stuck on hot, it ended up being the blend door. There's an article on fixing it in the Tech Library under heating and cooling. Hope that's helpful.

Mine was stuck on hot because the actuator that turns with the temperature knob was broke. I did the free blend door fix online with a nail. works good now
