I've been trying to get my fuel filter off for a while now, I'm assuming it is the stock filter.
I first tried the plastic ones that are like 10$ for the set of them, I recently tried the expensive metal ones with also no luck.
Is there a magic trick to changing these filters?
Thanks!

Quick connectors

These filters snap in with quick connectors, not so quick if you ask me. It depends on the style quick connector you have. The old ones had plastic tabs that you had to pry out with a small screw driver, they had a triangle shape where you would pry out on. It helps If you push the line towards the filter and then pry the tabs straight out. These will break and they usually come with the new filter. The other style looks completely different and these you do the opposite. These are usually just black and you push the black raised part in while pushing the fuel line towards the filter. Send a picture or describe what connector y have will help.

It is the normal "quick disconnect" which is really worse than a threaded fitting.
The rubber hos comes off just fine, however I tried to push in on the metal fitting with no luck. I'm not sure what else to try. I have pushed in on it while putting the tool in.

Try spraying Wd40 all inside fitting. Sometimes dirt get stuck up in there and won't let it push in all the way.

I think I might try that or some pb blaster. Would the freeze off stuff help at all?

Start by getting the filter rotating in the line so you know it isn't frozen to the line. Then push filter forward, pry too in with screwdriver until you hear a click, then pull.

Yup, just get the screw driver up between the filter and the disconnect tool and put some pressure on the tool.

Got the filter off. The trick was to push the filter back into the quick disconnect until it clicked. Thank for the help!
