Hey guys,

I have an 1984 Ford Ranger with the 13-50 T-case. The bolt you remove to fill the t-case was found to be stripped. Can I fill it some other way like through the speedometer attachment point or the rear output shaft??

Thanks in advance!!!!!

is it an allen key filler plug or a plug with a hex head on the end, metal or brass?

Ry

Should just be a pipe plug that you remove with a 3/8 ratchet. No socket or wrench needed.

If it really is stripped, turn it out with a chisel bit on a air hammer. Then get a new one from a junkyard or somethin.

Oh yeah it's really stripped. Does any one know if you can fill it up from the areas I listed on the t-case??

the only thing i see going wrong is filling it up too much, cause the fill hole is at the correct level of fluid. try and get it out, dont okie fill it

by chance do you have access to a welder? weld in a bolt and turn it out with the correct size socket.

i know on my dads last truck, some mech tried to change the diff fluid with the worng allen key and stripped it, the dodge dealer wanted 850$ to drop the t-case, drill it out and replace it and remount it...

We took it home, welded a nut with a couple tacks to the the plug and 2 mins later it was out....

Went back to the dealer ship, and the mechanic looks at me and said... huh never thought of that lol... some ppl i tell ya
