that looks great. did you do that yourself or have a pinstriper do it for you

What are the specs on that shovel? What frame is it going into?

Here's the guy that put together my 97".

http://spchoppers.com/index.htm

It will go on the dyno some time next year. Expecting 110-120hp.

I bought it from the repro-factory in Wisconsin....I assembled it in the garage.....built the softail frame---'74 style on front with softail rear...

It's 80 cu.in.....just for cruising.....

Must be nice. I couldn't even think about putting my bike in the back of a Ranger, it wouldn't fit. That's probably why it stays home when I go on trips (and almost any where else). I think I'm going to build a trike to replace it, build one with a bed so I'll be able to take the bike and won't need the truck. I admit that the bed may be a bad idea, but I do have a 2.8L that I need to find a home for and a trike is one consideration.

I have to leave the tailgate level to carry the harley...

the electric winch at the front pulls the bike in nicely.....

I also have adjustable air shocks on the truck to level it out once it's loaded.

I'm thinking about putting a trike rear end on mine too...

but NOT with a V-6 in front of it ;missingteeth;

Considering that my bike just barely fits on an 8' long trailer I don't think leaving the tailgate down on my short bed Rangers would do any good.

I would use a V8 but I don't have a spare and this motor is just sitting there waiting for a home. The other thought is to connect it to a mid engine transaxle and build dune buggy around it. Build something in the style of the military Chenowth buggies. I need to do something with it the motor was a fresh rebuild when I totaled the truck and its too good of a motor to get rid of. Got a while to think on it though, nothing will be happening with it soon.

Took the tailgate home and got it installed within about 15 seconds of being in the yard. Couldn't wait to see how it looked.

Also got my new cargo light this weekend. Finished wiring my taillights as well.

Installed the panel between the grille and the rad core. I had prepped it a few weeks ago, but needed to wait for new hardware from LMC.

I fit my door panels for good too. Doors are fully assembled, and if I need to take them apart I will need another set of new door panel clips.

Installed a new hood popper. Old one had gotten lost, and was ugly and corroded anyway.

What size engine is on your R/C plane??? and do you fly much ???

Robert

p.s. Truck looks good.

sent with a killer robot and lipo battery's.

Looking good! I like how you left the ford in bare metal, I somehow missed it in the previous pics. I think I have a lot of LMC ordering in my future as well.

You may have posted this before, but what color is that blue. The Ranger I am rebuilding will be blue as the primary color, and I'd like to add that to my list as a possibility. I'd go with a finer metal flake, but the shade is great. Currently Kona blue on the newer Mustangs is at the top of the list, but I'm keeping my options open.

This plane has a .46FX OS engine on it. It's a Sig LT-40 I built several years ago, but just learned to fly this fall. I've only flown this plane once, but have flown my others a lot. Most are electric foamies, and then the Ultimate Biplane I am building. It will have a .72 four stroke.

The Ford isn't bare metal, it is done in silver leaf. So that explains why you didn't see it before... it was just done this week!

I don't know what the blue is. It was just mixed up custom to as close as he could get to match the steering wheel.

Somehow I missed it in these pics, which I looked at the day you posted them. I check out the build a lot more often than I post.

Once it was on the truck I noticed and looked back at the other pics again. Technically speaking silver leaf is bare metal. Silver is metal, and you put nothing more than a clear coat over it. I know what you mean though, I just assumed the letters were masked or the paint was removed before clearing. That is cool, I need to go check out a youtube on doing silver/gold leaf. I've always liked the look but never really understood how it worked.

That's cool, just figured I'd ask. Sometimes that's how the best colors are made, by just mixing paint until it's right. Unfortunately that also makes them hard to duplicate if needed in the future. That's the reason I want to stick with more of a production color.

Basically just paint the area you want the silver to stick to with glue, and when it gets tacky, lay the thin sheet of silver over it, and use a small brush to wipe the excess silver off. Then he took and electric drill with a wool pad to create the brushed look, and then brushed some clear over it all.

This is a great build and restore, this is a motivator for me to take the extra time. I bet its getting lots of people motivation and maybe even a different mind set. Nicely done.

Well, truck is basically finished now. All I have left is the exhaust, headlight knob and speedometer driven gear. I was previously unaware the manual and auto trans take a different gear.

Most of the work was in installing the Dakota digital indicator. It shows what gear I am in, as well as controlling the neutral safety switch, and reverse lights. It also has high beam indicator and turn signal indicators. I figured it is a pretty clean way to go when swapping trans and gauges.
