I have an 89 bronco ii with auto transmission. I have noticed that while accelerating and driving, there is an odd whine, not very loud, almost like a turbo spooling up, not quite, and it is very quiet (you have to have the radio off). Sometimes when pulling out from a stop, it also makes this screechy noise, almost like a belt slipping, but none are. It only lasts maybe 3-5 seconds and goes away. When that happens, it doesn't lose drive or anything, it just makes the noise while pulling out. What could it be?

I hear strange noises from under my bed also, I usually run, hop in my truck, and go to Mcdonalds.

I would check to see if there are any vacuum leaks. Is it running funny at all? Check to see if the brake booster is leaking. Since it's the closest to you, you might be hearing that. I believe there is a valve on the hose that can fail but I don't know what kind of symptoms you'd have. Perhaps, that's the culprit.

To find any vacuum leak, spray some carb / Throttle Body cleaner around the hoses. If it revs, you've got a leak in that area you just sprayed.
