My '97 has been making this strange honking or howling noise since i've bought it, a couple of months ago. It only happens when i'm traveling on the freeway doing around 100 kph and decelerating. If I get back on the throttle the noise stops almost immediately.

I notice other posters here mentioning to others to remove the air intake resonator as an inexpensive alternative to an aftermarket intake and that's when I noticed ..... my truck doesn't have one. :icon_confused: I'm not sure if that's something specific to my year or what, but it looks very much like an unmolested, one-piece factory-style tube in there.

I know it's not my fan clutch making this noise. :)

Any input?

PATIA!

Nope. It's doing that too, but that's certainly a different sound and easily traced to the back of the truck. What i'm hearing is definitely up front.

But thanks for the input. :)

possible wheel bearings in the front going bad. Check your pulleys as well.
