My 89 Ranger 2.3 runs great no real problems till lately. Its gotten to where when it gets in a hard pull it will start to diesel or sounds like the valves are floating and when it does that it starts to smoke pretty bad out of the tail pipe. The smoke appears to be white. But when you let up all problems disappear. As long as you drive it normally it doesnt miss a lick. It does burn maybe a quart and a half between oil changes. I just resealed the engine, didnt rebuild it. I did drop the rod and main caps and the bearing looked just fine. Also when I had the intake off there was no oil/carbon build up around any of the valves so hopefully there are no problems with the valve seals.
Im hoping its just an injector causing the issue under load. Any input fellas??
