So im thrown on a 4in suspension lift on me truck. prob a body lift to at some point. i was plannin on fab my own winch bumper too...but i have a bunch of buddys that think i need a solid front to throw a winch bumper on. I think they are crazy would much rather have the independent. What do you guys think?

you would get more flex with a solid axle but you would get a smoother ride with independent. guess it just depends on what you use the truck

i understand the flex part. but i dont get why i would need a solid for a winch bumper lol

i dont understand that part either haha. never heard of that before

hahaha exactly! They prob are just givin me hell cuz they wont work on a ford.

Tell them that you're going to laugh when Chrysler goes under and they can't get parts for their overpriced piece of junk.

And no, you don't need any specific axle just to have a winch...what you need to worry about is the piece that it mounts to (whether it's strong enough)

Its the extra weight. Soild axles have no chamber adjustments when they move up and down, IFS does. So the more weight you throw on a IFS, the more the chamber is changed. But blocks or lift adjustment can easily fix it too.

that makes alot of sense. thanks guys.

Haha i def dont dig the whole jeep thing..hence the reaso i own a scout
