How's everyone doing? I've been combing through the forums a lot lately but end rabbit holes. I'm going ro 302 swap my 99 extended cab ranger. My main question is this, will a t5 from a mustang fit right in ? If I have to cut a hole for the shifter that's fine, and is there any driveshaft work or replacing that needs to be done? Please help it's my only vehicle and the motor and trans are failing.

Id buy a cheap beater to drive untill you get the swap done
Ok thanks, do you know of any manual trans that's a direct fit for the 302 swap if any?

A 5sp from a 97-02 F150 with the 4.2L is what most guys use
So the r2 is the only direct fit huh, ok thanks for the help folks, I'll post some pics as I go.
If you swap the tailshaft housing with one from an S-10, the shifter would be more/less be in stock location.
You still have to sort out the clutch.
The r2 is a bolt in/direct fit.
In all cases, you need to program the computer for manual.
