Hello all,

I hope to be getting back to my '97 5.0 swap soon. Right now I have the old 3.0 and auto trans pulled out, and left the AC and condenser and all components connected so they will be fit for use IF I use them (and I hope to!).

Now I really need to get the condenser and compressor out of the way. Whats the best way to store these so that they will work when reinstalled?

Evacuate the freon, disconnect the system, then seal off each and every component by use of plugs, take won't be enough...

OK Thanks. Would you happen to know what size and type of plugs so I can be sure to have the right ones on hand? Use teflon tape or sealant?

Sorry for the question overload.

Teflon/sealant is not needed, and you should be able to get plugs from the autoparts store...

Plug everything as soon as you disconnect it moisture will migrate into the oil as soon as you open up the system. A single drop of water can and will destroy the compressor. The only way to get all the moisture out is when you get it all back together and pressure test with nitrogen you want to evacuate it down to 300 microns for at least 1 hour that will boil the water out of the oil. It all depends on how much humidity is in the air when you open the system up.
