My stock T-case has always had a problem staying in 4hi and would pop out when i let of the gas. Now I only have 4Low Neutral and 2 HI. It also makes pretty loud whuring while its in 4LO. Snow is here and this is inconvenient as F**K. Is this fixable or should I throw one in from the Junk yard? And if so, is there a better replacement for the BW?

Is this a manual or electric?

If it's manual, I'd find a cheap 13-54E, and swap guts.

It is a manual T-case. I am trying to stay away from an electric setup.

You can use most of the guts from an electric in your manual for a rebuild. From the sounds of your problem, it sounds like the range shifter is worn (had the same issue). I used the fork and necessary parts from an electric to repair mine without issues!

i am running in the same problem my self... going to swap in a 1350 once i have a day to my self

You try adjusting the linkage??

that's what I was going to say, sounds like a linkage out of adjustment, go against the 4hi stop on the shifter and move the shifter on the case to the 4hi detent and retighten the adjustment bolts for the shifter, see if that works

Thanks Scott and 4x4Junkie. Its simple shit like that make this forum useful. 4hi and low work like a charm.

believe me, it took me a few months to figure that one out, mine was off so that it wouldn't stay in 4hi where the shifter was supposed to be so when I cruised around in 4wd it would fall out after like half a mile or any bump...

Always glad to help. :icon_thumby:
