Ok...Sorry this IS a generic question about shocks. new to the ranger

I have no lift...stock suspension under a 86 extended cab 4x4.

I need some shocks...is there brand of shocks that are preferred do better than others??
is there a brand to stay away from?

no plans to go wheel'n , bogg'n or mudd'n....just looking to smooth things out. but it might happen for grins

is the a shock that could accomindate a 2" lift?? I'd like to do that some where up the line, prolly far up the line...2"-4" neighbor hood anyway.

thanks

Plain ol' Monroe gas shocks would be fine. Stock shocks will be okay with a 2" lift.
