I have a 88 ranger and it has the stock stereo..now can i just pull the dash apart and pull out the radio or does it require to be cut out???..ive usually taken my rangers in to have the radio removed but this time funds are short.

if i remember correctly there are four screws holding it in after you remove the dash panel. you may need to buy an install kit if there is no hole for the factory rear brace to screw into.

Replaced the stock unit in my 89 with a Pioneer head unit and it was real easy. Two screws just above the cigar lighter and it was out (After trim removal). The new unit slid right in and locked into the metal box in the dash first try. And it was the first one I ever tried replacing.

will i need a install kit or can i install the stereo with what comes with it?
