The muffler on my ranger is finally starting to rattle a bit and it's bugging me. It is the original welded on muffler. If I go buy a replacement muffler and cut the old one off, will the new muffler just slip over the old pipes, or will it be the same diameter as the old pipes?

I'm hoping that maybe if I just drive it long enough with it rattling, the baffle or whatever is loose in there will just break off and quit rattling!

Thanks for the help!

For what ive seen in some, the inlet and outlet are always a bit bigger, just enough u can slip it a bit and weld or what ever ur using to keep it there.

use a dial caliper and measure the od. then buy a muffler for that size

it'll be 2"od on a stock setup, get a replacement with 2" ID in and out and you will be fine, they're all set up to go over standard pipe unless you get something odd...

Thank you very much for your help! It is greatly appreciated!
