Still wanna kill it Bill?

the suck here is they sell the truck elsewhere that would boom here.

a 30 plus mpg 4 door that out tows the current 4.0 offering...WHO THE HELL WOULD WANT THAT???

WTF???????......

i like the ranger platform for maneuverability and ruggedness. i dislike the 28k ext cab price that gets the same or worse economy then a fullsize.

a small turbo diesel electric awd hubmotor hybrid would be real nice at this point too.

Yeah I really hope it doesent get killed. I think It is way better than all the other trucks in its class... Toyota only moves more off the shelf cause for some reason people think that the Japanese know how to make trucks, yes i know there are some old yodas out there but look at them they are all tore up and rusted to $h!t... Sure the Ranger hasent been redone in awhile but look at it if if can stay in the game this long without a major redesign since 1993 but imagine if they were to redo it and base it around the euro or S.American ranger.

What ford needs to do is listen to the consumer... My Girlfriend was gonna buy a ranger when she got a new car but she needed 4drs so she got an escape used and it didnt hold the value nearly as well as a 08 ranger would have

I was wondering the same thing.

Actually, I'm surprised that the Transit Connect isn't outselling the Ranger. That's essentially what it's designed to be - a fleet vehicle.

Bingo. I was thinking that after Jason said that. Ranger buyers will buy those instead eh Bill? Try again my friend, the Ranger is one tough little rig to beat.

You know what I get a kick out of? Those stupid commercials chevy has out that say "may the best car win". Well looks like the public is speaking loud and clear to me. Don't get me wrong I still like the older chevys but with all the bright ideas they have had, starting back when they eliminated the s-10 and camaro, have really turned me away from new chevys forever. Hope Ford learns from this and doesn't make the same mistakes!! KEEP THE RANGER FORD!!! Best truck I have ever owned and would own a fleet of them if I could afford them, not that I have a need for that many either, but I think you get my point.

They do listen to the consumer. The consumer with the cash to buy new vehicles. I am willing to bet a large part of Ranger sales are fleet sales for places that used Rangers and are replacing older vehicles while the old tech truck is still available and cheap.

My friend is still with Autozone as a regional Commercial Manager and I know he just bought 30 of the things to get the lower price while he could.

IMO ford would be wasting money by sticking a v8 in a ranger while 99% of TRS would go crazy over it (including me) the consumers probably wouldn't be thrilled because of ever increasing gas prices and striving too edge more economy and performance out of 4 bangers and V6's i say change the body lines drop in that 3.7 from the stangs and watch the sales fly maybe bring back the FX4 lvl 2 package and add sync. then ford would get tacos off their back in sales :headbang:
that ecoboost wouldn't be bad either though

Stick an ecotech engine in a ranger and sales would likely double.

I'd sell a kidney to own a Ranger with a TT-GDI 300hp V6.
