still no luck, ideas?

could be starter. could be lots of things. i havent checked the plugs lately. no it doesn't stall. once it starts it runs as normal
maybe im stupid but im gonna put prolly 600k on it this weekend. good idea ill say.

see how she holds up, then treat her to some new parts

treat it after it proves worthy...eh
I had a bad connection when trying to view the video....couldn't tell to much at 1st...tried again later with more volume and then picked up on it...that it started and ran ....run pretty smooth ta-boot.:icon_thumby:

before ya take off... might want to double check to see if the starter is just loose. where it mounts and the 2 small long bolts holding it together end to end. the 2 small ones backed off on mine....:annoyed::shok:

ya most of the time it idles good. just randomly doesn't. its really buggin e but i dont wanna go fix it cause its very cold. maybe tomorrow

so i got the clutch fan on and its amazing. SOO quite its SOO worth it. even if your clutch fan is working while running, i reccomend getting a new one. cause most of them run when its cold for some reason. noone knows.

anybody know if the clutch fan could effect the starting? cause it seems to turn over way faster now...

Temp. sensor will mess with you. I would replace it.

easy to say when your not the one payin for the parts. if i could afford to replace everything, i'd probably replace the truck. ps ok its not that crazy news.

i need help identifying a part. heres what went on tonight:

popped the top to look for sensors

thinger i didn't know what was...

meanwhile, i noticed my o2 sensor was not tight!

after takin care of the o2, i tried using the harness for the back up lights etc from the truck the tranny came out of, and once i realized it didn't fit either, i knew something was frigged. i also noted that both plugs are similair in shape. huh

i broke it :(

took it out, cleaned it off, soldered it back together, after much hand cutting and frustration managed to get it back in. ps the O2 was a PITA i was VERUY frustrated as i didn't have a 22mm stubby wrench, so it was very difficult.
ok so turns out we had some wires switched up! video tomorrow!
hopefully get the starting issue figured out soon...

the 1st picture is that looking down on your shifter (manual tranny), with the interior boot off???

and following pictures taken from below...again of the tranny, only looking back up from the floor??

which side are looking at drivers or passangers?

which side are looking at drivers or passangers?

PS the starter bolts that hold it together HAD backed off, and it turns over way faster. still takes forever to start tho...

yea but ill put my 2.9 against your 2.8 anyday. its not the engine its the damn electrical. the problem was i had aluminum wheels, and noone thought it necessary to mention to re torque the lugs. so the all came loose and popped off. it was a hell of a ride tho

I'll take that race. Your 2.9 will blow a head half way through and my 180,000 mile 2.8 engine 4-speed TK will laugh.

As for the wheels I tighten like hell and call it good....using proper tightning techniques like the star pattern. Wish I could have been there to see that. Which wheel fell off, any damage and how fast were you going? Glad to see you are ok.

You shouldn't have to re-torque them. I have had 16" aluminum centerlines on my Ranger for quite some time and have never had to re-torque them. Really, I've never had to re-torque a lug nut because it's come loose before. I just keep the threads lightly greased and tighten them to 110 ft/lbs and it's never been an issue. Something funny is going on there IMO.
