Alright I tapped the motor with a hammer and I tested for power and its getting power for 4 low but stillo doesnt engage i guessing the motor is bad and needs to be replaced

My '96 is the first electronic shift that I've ever used or owned. I thought that I had a problem until I figured out that if I put it in neutral, depressed clutch AND brake it goes in every time. Comes out the same way.
