i have a 03 ranger with and the clutch pedal just all of a sudden started to go stiff if you pump it a few times it will come out of it but only for a few mins and sometimes for a hour but than it goes stiff again i was wondering if anyone would know why this is happening

You have a stiffy, then?:icon_thumby:

You have back pressure somewhere. There is no pressure pump or vacuum assist on the clutch system, and it is a closed system.

There is a possibility that you have high moisture content in the fluid. Heat expansion of unwanted moisture could cause this problem. Get some moisture check sticks from an auto parts store and check the fluid (essentially power steering fluid / brake fluid moisture check). If there is high moisture content or if you don't want to bother checking, flush the system (never let it get air in the system, that causes other headaches).

I have a similar problem on my BII. Sometimes it is stiff and other times it will go to the floor with little effort. It sometimes stays on the floor then slowly release. I am also getting a sound of air rushing It started this today so I have parked it till I fix it. Been told the master is bad
