Steering wheel slip ring "lubricant"

There is a possible lubricant on the slip rings that I need to reapply, but don't know what it is. It's green and I'm not sure how conductant it is, but it has to pass a current for the steering wheel controls to work. It's not what I would call a standard lubricant, but just not sure what it is.

I have a 94 V6 Ranger XLT 2wd. Thanks for any information.

dielectric grease

Well, that had crossed our mind, but dielectric grease is non-conductive and we thought that placing it directly on the contacts like that would cut down the "flow".

I realize you don't put that much on, but it just doesn't seem too logical. I believe you, I'm just asking.

Thanks for the help!
