hey guys, my 91 never had powere steering. it doesn't bother me to have it with out p-s. the problem i have is that the rubber outer coating has begun to seporate from the metal pole inside the wheel. i know i could get a wheel off of a truck around the same year but I'm afraid that it would just seporate like mine. i know the 80s trucks had solid plastic wheels. did they have the same shaft with a flat spot like mine? or am i looking at 90s and up wheels. basically what years had the same shaft as mine?
is there an adaptor where i could go back to the gear looking shaft that pretty much every one used from the 70s on back?
some of the local yards have older cars that were solid plastic and had a much larger diameter wheel. which would be great for more leverage to turn the wheel. but the shafts are different.
i know i could get a grant or other aftermarket wheel but i really don't like the looks of them. any help would be great.
