i've got an 89 bronco II 2wd

it has tons of slop in the steering wheel. just had an alignment. I've been told the steering boxes are crap in these.

what's my best fix to make her steer like my honda?

Put a rack and pinion in, like your honda.

How's your drag link? I've seen more than one tech get paid for an alignment and basically set the toe angle and send it out the door because they are just unfamiliar with Ford TTB suspension and steering systems. The drag link on my 94 Ranger got really sloppy and I replaced it. After that the Ranger steered alot better.

The steering gears can wear out. There is an adjustment on it, but if it's sloppy your better off replacing it. Does it wander on the road or just have a lot play in the wheel?

Mine was hit and wandering when I held the wheel straight and the steering gear was the culprit.

The steering boxes are not too bad, they are still using them to this day in trucks up to the F-450.

They just get old and worn.

there is abit of slop in my steering probably an inch or so either way. My main concern is the wondering.

she likes to bounce around alot.
