I recently put a 4" lift in my truck and it seems that the drop pitman arm that came with it wasn't enough visually. I was wondering if that is the cause of the wandering steering I am getting or maybe it is the softer springs? It appears that my alignment is correct, or as close as it can be.

What are some solutions to this wandering if there are any or is it just one of those things I have to live with? What should I take a closer look at?

As far as the pitman arm goes, could I heat it up and bend it down or would that be bad? I am just weighing my options.

Thanks:icon_thumby:

Yeah, you're not alone with the wandering... Almost anyone that uses the pitman arm provided with their TTB lift runs into this issue.

Get the longer Skyjacker pt# FA600 "extreme" drop arm. In spite of claims about it being a 6-8" lift arm, it's actual drop amount is 4". This will match up perfectly with your lift and should take care of the problem.

(and no, DO NOT try to heat and bend your existing arm. Not only will this severely weaken it, it won't do much to lower the linkage anyway, it would just move it closer to the axle, creating other issues).

Alright, thanks! Atleast I am not alone and was thinking the right thing about the pitman arm. Thanks again!
