Hello Everyone,
Can anyone tell me if the steering column lever ball stud is welded or threaded into the bracket? If anyone has some diagram's or pdf's showing this that would be appreciated.
I'm stumped. What is/are you describing, for?
I googled and it seems to be part of the shifter cable system on some dodge's and a ford taurus. I'm unfamiliar with the steering column so I hope you get some answers so I can learn too.
I'm taking some vehicles to the crusher so I can do some destructive testing if I know what exactly you're asking about. Pics might help.

edit; A description of what you're working on would help too.
Hello,
The automatic transmission shift cable attaches to the steering column lever ball stud. This is in the engine compartment by the firewall. The cable snaps over the ball. The problem I have is the ball has apparently rusted and is small then it should be and will not stay connected. I have already replaced the cable and know that the cable is not the problem. I have been told that the only way to replace this is to pull the steering column out of the vehicle. But I hoping that this is not the case. I am referring to this as a steering column lever ball stud as the Chiltons manual for the truck refers to it with that name.
