After doing lots of research and asking some questions I decided to move forward with the 5.0L swap into my 2003 Ranger. I am picking up the donor today for $800. I am picking up a 1999 Explorer EB today. Has just over 200K on it. Interior is ok but wouldn't put the seats in my truck. They are cracked and very worn. Center console is in ok shape but the lid will need to be recovered. The owner told me it's not AWD. The Radio bezel has buttons for 4x4 Auto, 4x4 Hi and 4x4 Low. I was told that all Explorers were either 2WD or AWD. Oh well, doesn't matter anyway. It has the climate control which I would also like to transplant in the Ranger! Steering wheel is in good shape. Roof console is good as well. The engine looks like it has 200K on it but I am going to go thru it anyway. I am going to try to document as much as possible and keep good notes; especially on the problem areas (i.e. Speedometer, Radiator, A/C, etc.) I will also take lots of pics! Please help me out with any suggestions you might have. I am not building a race truck! Just something fast and powerful that will turn some heads. I will not be racing! Well maybe a little if the opportunity should arise.
