starting problems

My 94 4X4 4.0 L truck is giving me problems starting.
I can hear the fuel pump running all the time. If it does start
I get a CEL and it runs really rich for a while and then the
engine revs up and and clears. Also the CEL goes off as well.
Could it be the fuel pressure regulator.
Once it clears, it will run fine till I let it sit for 4-8 hours...then
the same problem again. I did notice that if I turn the key off and
on about 20 times without trying to start it, then it will start up normally.

My 93 just had the same problem. I had to replace the computer.

Thanks for the info... I did a hard reset on my computer and
it still does the same thing. I have been wanting to mess with
the ECU for a while anyway...this could be just the reason I needed.

ECM location?

Okay, I am looking for the ECM..was told drivers side firewall about 12" down from the kickpanel.
Can't seem to find it there... Where else might it be on a '94?
