I have a 95 ranger, Just replaced the O2 sensor in behind the cat. I was wheeling today and i tore out the harness that that goes to the transfercase, O2 sensors, and transmisson for the seed sensor. I am gonna head down to the junkyard tomorrow and get a new harness, but since i tore the harness out, The starter won't do anything. I was wondering if my starter is not working because of this harness, or something else. o ya, it will start if I cross the terminal on the starter relay with a screw driver.

Thanks

You may have torn off solenoid wire with the harness. This is the wire that trips the solenoid in the starter which then allows the main power from the battery to turn the starter.

You may have blown some fuses check fuse #24 in the inst panel its a 15 amp fuse (blue).

just went to the junk yard, and got a new harness, it seems to have fixed the starter problem
