So the wiring harness on my truck had to be rebuilt about a month ago. They did a great job, until I went to change my oil yesterday. When I went to remove the filter the harness was RIGHT over the filter. After creating a few sparks with the filter wrench I finally just stabbed it with a screw driver to get it loose. Then I had to fish the damn thing out from the top past the steering link with a coat hanger (lucky it had a couple holes at that point). The new one got lowered in with some string and took some contorting on my part to tighten...
Off the top of my head I don't remember where the harness was but I know for damn sure it didn't encapsulate the filter to the point you couldn't get it out. Seems it would have made more sense to loop it over the engine mount rather than under it and the filter. Does anyone know how it is from the factory? It's a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT Supercab w/ 3.0L FlexFuel and auto tranny.
