starter wiring help

93 2.3L 5 speed...can anyone show me some pictures of the solenoid on the fender's wiring, and even the starter itself. my starter will not disengage after i start the truck. even a better wiring diagram than my haynes would sufice

if the starter cranks over when you turn the key then it sounds like its wired up right otherwise it wouldnt crank over, now if your starter gear is not disengaging the starter might be bad. The gear could just be stuck. Now when you start it is the starter trying to turn the motor over or is the gear just not disengaing, to figure this out when you start your truck just crank for a quick second so the motor doesnt start, now if it keeps turning over after you let go something is wrong with your ignition switch or solenoid is messed up. if the motor doesnt keep turning over when you let go of the switch the solenoid is should be good then and the same with the ignition switch, so if that is the case then i would say the problem is your starter gear not flying back from the flywheel

hmm interesting thanks. i can turn then engine without starting the truck and the starter stops. but when i start the truck the starter stays engaged. so your telling me its the gear not popping back, right? do you think taking the starter to autozone to test will tell me this?

They should, or you could jump it with some battery cables once it's out and check yourself.
