sometimes when we go to start her truck you turn the key all the lights light up and radio turns on but the starter wont turn over. so i climb under the truck wiggle the red wire around on the starter then it will start and is fine for afew weeks. then it happens again and i fix it the same way. im thinking there is corosion on the terminal? should i replace the whole wire? die-electic grease?
where does this cable go?
where can i get one?
what is it called?
and is it hard to replace?

thanks all,
dan

You may have to replace some parts, but try cleaning the terminal and then spraying with a good shot of silicone spray...then make sure the contacts are tightened...use a lock washer if you have one...they tend to wiggle loose all the time...

it was just a push on connector. i just cut the end off crimped on another female connector and used some die-electric grease. turned out good as new. the guy at napa said this is a common problem on the rangers, and thankfully it was a super easy fix.

Cool...good to hear it was an easy fix...:icon_thumby:
