Starter Trouble!!!

I have fit fought and every thing with my truck trying to get it to start off the key. I ve bought new starters, cyliniods cables and every thiing and I think that its in my ingnition. How can I run a push button starter switch on it its a 83 ranger!!!!!!!! I need to no fast thanks

push button start for any fender/firewall mounted solenoids

any veh with the firewall mounted solenoid should have three feeds. large battery cable to battery, large cable to started and a small cable on the solenoid. the ign switch sends 12v to the solenoid through this small wire to engauge the solenoid to power the starter. just run a fused and switched 12v feed to the small terminal on the starter. to test the veh wiring and the ign switch itself, just put a test light between the small wire at the solenoid and ground. turn the key to crank and the light should light up. if not get a diagram and check the output from the ign sw or just wire a puch button. there are a couple of push button starter kits out there for ricer's replacing their lighter socket with a push button.
