my starter has a dead short in it, and i need something to scrape me by until i can afford to actually buy a starter.

will the starter from a 4.0/A4LD combo bolt to a 2.9/A4LD? it seems like it should since it's the same flex plate.

If you can't find one that fits, I have a 2.9L auto starter in good condition that I pulled off when switching to a manual trans. You can have it for the shipping charge only if you are in the US. I believe USPS priority flat rate is $10.00.

They are 15 bux at the junkyard, and most cars arent scrapped because of a bad starter. I would check there first, just make sure to get the auto starter and not the manual, there is a 3/4 inch difference in length between the two pintleshafts

For $25 you can purchase a starter rebuild kit. You'll end up with the same Rebuilt starter that would cost 75+ at the parts store.

Yeah thats true too, and easier than pulling two starters lol.

eh, i just broke down and bought a valuecraft starter, it works, i'm good now.
