started my v8 swap

i have got all parts now just need remote oil filter still hunting for the right one. i am starting at the tranny . i have a new rebuilt c4 with mild shift kit i ran in a street truck for a short time . so aim doing a tail shaft swap with a c5. i was able to pull c5 a part and retrieve tail shaft and related parts last night. cleaned them up . to night i will be pulling the c4 down , my plan is to get the tranny flanged together, and i have a dead 302 block , ill add my oil pan bolt the empty block up to the tranny and wedge it all in using the tranny mount as the starting point .(hopefully) . once i have that fantasy completed i should be able to mock the rest in by using old empty heads and such to mock it all in .i have a fairly fresh turn key 71 302 from old street truck my be 50 000 on it. so i want all the blod sweat and tears out of the Way when i lay that in there the .the said 302 resides in my sons Mach 1 he has never drove it and by luck is able to buy the vin# matching 351c back.for his car so i get my 302 back its 30 over flat tops 351 w cam and 71w heads mustang 289 four barrel intake ,1968 believe ? 500 cfm edelbrock performer and a few other chose parts but you get the plan its no sat night killer but it was lots of fun in my old 75 full size 2wd. ill post up pics to night of motor and tranny . the only pic of motor going in my ranger.should be abel to tear shit apart with this.

I'm watching. After helping a buddy do a 302 swap in his B2, I can tell you now your in for alot of custom work.

i stuffed a 350 /35o combo in a dautsun 240 z ,455 into a 64 chevy half ton i was 15 when i did that ,and a 396 in to 70 nova ,and 460 into 84 mustang,it riped 13 second 1/4 s i can handel this .i have been a street racer all my life andhad a bad crash. it scared me so now iam into 4x4s this is my first have no clue a bout susepensious but stuffing v8s into shit that should not have them that i know. iam just a broke **** with a meanal job. thats why its all junk. **** it!

302 short block in the truck

trannys bolted to the stock mounts. front of the block has to come up about 1/2 inch yet building mounts tomorrow. 1`/4 inch flat plate should do nice.

using oil pan from mustang 5.0 . out with the 2.8 in with the v8. this is not the motor i am using its just a mock up

heres the e fan i want to use out crown vic cop car

e fan no work in this ap cool 18 inch fan though.

all bolted in

got it bolted down where its staying.exhaust is almost done just need to finish drivers side down pipe and get it to passengers side then some striate pipe mufflers done have a set of sweet talkers lol glass pack off some shit good enough for now near new.shift link is done and in work good.rads in also need to finish boxing and bracing rad support after cutting it for clearance have an inch from fan to rad ???? i could use some thoughts on that. using ford flex fan late 70s. oil pan from 89 mustang,need remote oil filter badly will find or order Friday.will need to up grade rad right a way .on the down hill now .all this was in house i didn't have to make one trip off my land to get here if i had a oil filter i could have started a running mill.thats right this is just my mock up mill my engine is still sit nice and clean and shiny waiting to be set in flanged up and drove. this way of swapping a v8 was easy.(so far?) get some pics up but car domain is down now.tomorrow i have been planning this and researching this swap i went into it with a plan all the parts i stuck to the plan and bingo v8 ranger.( I HOPE fingers crossed) crazy man smiles and goes to bed!

all done clean paint engine compartment. waiting for oil filter kit and rad gong to get the motor i am using. when i reinstall, i am making new motor mounts push it back and down a bit no problem though.

the rad and exhaust is done but not in this pic.lots of picks but it take me so long to get them here. if want to see somthing ask and ill post it.

cleaned sanded and painted ill paint the frame when i am done climbing in and out. something has to be done with that ugly heater box! waiting for oil filter, and rad 3 core aluminum. rad guy says it will be lots if not he owns a rad.

my tranny cooler . its all done wired up ,ready for v8, going sat to get it. ill post some pics to night of my wiring . using dura spark set up out of 78 150.i have done the dura spark swap many times .it was all there in the ranger. i scraped the computer, plugged in ignition module. switched power to the coil and i have fire. hopefully i tested the system with test light and it all works should flash up right a way pic to night
