i just finished installing everything. it took a little more than a week to get everything installed. i still need to do some work on the brakes. they feel real spongy after installing the new brake lines. and i need to replace the tie rods and get an alignment. future plans are threat motorsports steering, bypass shocks for the rear, front and rear bumpers, fiberglass bedsides and a 9" rear with a good gear ratio. HUGE thanks to dave from threat for all the help! look forward to continueing the progress on my truck with your products.

dude we need the money shots! (full droop and full bump :D)

That turned out sweet! any pics of your engine cage? i need a few ideas for my race truck. WHere you at in phoenix? My truck is out in peoria off of Happy valley and 99th ave

Holy shiza that looks good! If you don't mind me asking.....can you break down some of the costs?? I plan on doing a similar, if not the same, build with a 97 ranger.

I'm still very much at the drawing board...as I don't have a truck yet... =) But I want to plan this out perfectly and make a really nice, street-able truck with a good amount of travel for some fun wheeling in my local woods.

Thanks much! Good luck with your truck in the future.

talk to the guy that posted below ya (dave). he'll set you up right quick. Him and i emailed back and forth quite a bit till we figured out what price and setup would work best for me.

ya lindenmooch defintitaly talk to dave! awesome guy to work with and amazing products! but just off the top of my head for all the major components i'd say about $4000 but plan to spend atleast twice that much haha

and 84projectford i gotta find a better jack for the bump and droop pics but i'll see what i can do. im livin right near bell rd and the 51. been following your build for a little inspiration as well. awesome work you've done! my engine cage i believe is an used giant motorsports. i bought it from a guy off dezertrangers and it looks exactly like giants. but i'll get some pics tomorrow( the cell phone doesn't take great pics at night haha)

4 grand?!!? Kind of a lot... Skyjacker sells a kit with almost everything needed for front AND rear..only costs about 1200. Comes with new radius arms...coils...leaf springs....and a bunch of brackets and stuff. Not sure on shocks....

I don't think I'll be "hucking" the truck over any sand dunes, or hitting whoops at 100mph.

Think I can just use the stock TIB's and buy a bracket kit to get more wheel travel? I know it's not as strong, but it's simpler and cheaper.

A skyjacker kit doesn't do the same thing, or even CLOSE to the same thing as this kit does. Thats simply a lift kit for more ground clearance, where this is a full functioning long travel suspension made for taking obstacles at high speeds.

I see what you're saying...but I may not completely understand...I still have much to learn about pre-runners.

We shouldn't hijack Hutch's build thread....and instead discuss it in a thread I started earlier...

Hutch, you and others will be my inspiration...and I'll be checking on your progress to see what directions you went, and support you got from the vendors you chose.

heres the pics of the engine cage for ya 84

and overall

it was pretty tight on the driver side with the brake master cylinder and the fuse box. on the passenger side i had to relocate the intake tube and just did a cone filter on the end instead of reuse the old air box. besides that its a pretty nice fit.

and ya lindenmooch the skyjacker is a great kit but not for prerunners. the brackets are a weak point. keep an eye out for used parts on dezertrangers.com and race-dezert.com tho because many of them are still in good shape and you can get some awesome deals as well. good luck with your build

ya about 4,000 for the equal length kit, coilovers and springs, coilover mounts, deavers and rear shocks and other random stuff. i got great deals on the beams and the coilovers and well everything! haha

awesome! thanks hutch! i might have to have ya swing out by my place this up comin weekend to check it out or myabe i can swing by your place. i have to go pick up a buddies boat for havasu next week and i want to make some more progress on the ranger as well

Linden - Dave also makes other kits for way cheaper and will probably be best for your situation. the only way to know though is to talk to him. 4Gs really is cheap for a race ready front end, believe me i know from searchin around. Dave has other kits that range in the 1500 buck range as well.

wow that looks waay good..those beams are gorgeous
