Start of ranger overhaul - in the United kingdom

As president of the United States of America I approve of your paint idea.

But wouldn't the paint scheme for the 51 mellow yellow at the end of the movie be more appropriate since its not a chevy?

I mean it's still a chevy in the movie but at least it doesn't have giant bowties on it? Putting bowties on a ranger is illegal.

That's very true but end of the day it was a car in the film too rather than a truck........ in the uk most people wouldn't know a ford truck from a chevy truck anyways. I mean the big FORD writing stamped on the tailgate might be a slight giveaway I guess.

I'll be honest, I didn't even know people in the UK watched terrible American movies. :icon_rofl:

I think the most Brittish movie I've ever seen is V for vendetta... which is way better than days of thunder in every aspect except not having cars in it.

We were a little behind in getting cable/sat TV compared to you guys, we didn't have a great deal of choice in what we watched.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you folks get trucks like this? The non american version of the ranger (the t5) is like gold over here. I went to Germany once where my brother in law was stationed and he had his cars shipped over (92 ranger and a 96 mustang GT) he sold them immediately when locals offered him insane money cause those things simply don't exist there. Then bought 2 Audis cause they are like chevies over there. Came back sold them for even more money. He made enough just going over there and coming back selling crap he bought that once in the states he got a brand new GMC 3500.

The truck was imported from Nevada last year. We do have ford rangers over here but they are totally different, horrible weedy diesel engines mainly, well the older ones were, newer ones have bigger capacity diesels but they are largely all double cabs. A single cab pickup truck is a rare thing over here generally, normally only used by farmers.

Yea, those are what we call the T5 rangers. They were never available in north america. They couldn't pass north american emissions.

Interested too...
