Standard box tailgate, are they all the same?

I have a 96 b series and I have no tail gate currently, Just wondering what year fits my truck, like would a 2006 tailgate work? or is it just a certain year range? Its a regular 96 (Non StepSide) box. Thx

I'm pretty sure all the tailgates are interchangeable. Just the body lines and designs changed.

All 93+ non-stepside tailgates are exactly the same, body lines and all. 06+ tailgates have that big Ford emblem in the middle, that's really the only difference.
