stalls shifting into park

I just got a 01 edge 4x4 yesterday everything was cherry till now. Now it stalls going into park and makes a whistle sound sometimes and idles fairly rough and at 500 rpm. This is my first 4.0 otherwise ive had 2.9s and 2.3s lol so im a bit new to them. I wanna say its the IAC but it hasnt thrown up any codes so im thinking the basics as well. But its cold and im lazy and I want to hear it from 4.0 people. Id say basics but that whistling sound is baffling me.

Does it stall at all when you stop in drive? Does it stall in neutral? If it stalls and idles rough in park only, then it is most likely a transmission issue. If it idles low in all gears then I would check fuel pressure and plugs and wires). Go ahead and change your fuel filter since its cheap and easy.

in drive it will stall every so often but it will still run rough. Im gonna start with plugs and wires then the filter and work my way up. Funny thought though it wont stall when I let off the brake as soon i put it in park

Ive never had an automatic lol
