hey, my 86 b2 with a 2.9 seems to stall quite often after i stop at a stop light or what not. it hickup's a bit during regular driving but nothing serious.

the stalling is whats stumping me. it happens after its up to operating temp. and it always takes a bit of cranking and some pressure on the gas pedal to get it to start, then it runs great again... thoughts?

new in tank fuel pump, new filter, new in line fuel pump, new plugs, good gas.

i tryed pulling codes but for some reason i can't get it to work. works on my buddy's 89 but not mine...

last time i was able to read codes it came up with a TPS sensor failure code. if i remember right thats not just a plug and play. anyone care to inlighten me? could this have to do with my stop sign stalling?

TPS sensor with KOEO should have a voltage reading of about .98 ( dependingon what specs you are reading. .98 works for me) I was having problems similar to that and I had some bad EGR components. Having been dealing with some of these types of issue for a while now (see "2.9 engine miss") I would tell you to go through the entire engine. Do a compression/leakdown test, vacuum test, test all sensors you can test (research how) and make notes so you can clearly figure out what is going on and understandably start a process of elimination. Your problem may be one bad sensor throwing others out of whack or it may be multiple sensors going bad. That seems to be my case.

ya i've read that thread a bunch of times. i need to buy more tools, like a multimeter, and a timing light. and yes i think your right, i'll go through as much as i can. but first will be to check my tps!

ohh very good find. i need to check some of the basic's. like enging timing, 02 sensors, etc.
