2001 ranger xlt 4wd 4.0 V6 .i have replaced idler pulley, altenator, belt tensioner. when ireplaced belt tensioner it stopped squealling unless i mash gas.so i know the main problem was tensioner.put belt dressing on belt .big mistake. does any one no why it is still squealling. belt perhaps? it looks old.just bought truck 45 days ago from carmax only 30 day warranty!!

I don't see the belt on your list... I would have replaced it first.

The answer's in your "mash the gas" comment. When you increase the speed things are moving at you decrease the belts ability to grip things well enough to keep'em moving. Your belt is past its prime so it can't hold past a certain point in the rpm range. Like the last guy, I say "Ditch the belt".

It Was The Belt!!! $300 Later!!! thank you for the help. i was about to trade it for a s-10. hahaha
