Replaced the entire center bearing. Issue for me was, as the rubber bumper failed, it allowed more back/forth movement of driveshaft. Which was causing the dust cap/washer to grind and rattle against the lip of the driveshaft. New bearing way more sturdy. However, dumbass me, jammed the new bearing too deep into shaft. So still get a squeal when bearing flexes. But it’s way less frequent. I sprayed lithium grease on the surface and it’s been quiet.
if I were wanting to yank the thing again I’d just not even use the washer. It’s a stupid solution creating an inevitable problem. and the center bearing is sealed. When I have the appetite I’m killing it and doing straight driveshaft from +98 ranger.
