Squeal/Jingle/Metal on Metal Symphony

what's that now??? I've not heard of this witchcraft..
Neither had I, until stumbling across a post and/or tech article here...and now it seems so have you. It was a two beer job. I suggest look into it, check out the tech section here, and the fleabay or junkyards. Cheers.

THAT'S AWESOME! Sounds straightforward. I just got the center bearing off the shaft. Going to slap it all back together and continue killing this one while keeping an eye on Ebay.

This. Get under there and rattle stuff around. I had a similiar rattle at 2500RPMS and it was the shield between the tranny nd engine
How did you fix it? I have the same issue and am using some rubber bushings as shims but it still rattles a bit

Yo @GingerKing13

Replaced the entire center bearing. Issue for me was, as the rubber bumper failed, it allowed more back/forth movement of driveshaft. Which was causing the dust cap/washer to grind and rattle against the lip of the driveshaft. New bearing way more sturdy. However, dumbass me, jammed the new bearing too deep into shaft. So still get a squeal when bearing flexes. But it’s way less frequent. I sprayed lithium grease on the surface and it’s been quiet.

if I were wanting to yank the thing again I’d just not even use the washer. It’s a stupid solution creating an inevitable problem. and the center bearing is sealed. When I have the appetite I’m killing it and doing straight driveshaft from +98 ranger.
