Springs?????

I ended up getting 6" of solid 3" diameter aluminum bar that I am going to cut into spacers and drill the 1 3/8" hole in the center.

I'll post some pictures when I'm done....gotta convince my buddy we should play with his lathe tonight....

I thought hatman had to use the f150 buckets as well? Bobby are you sure they drop right in?

yeah....started doing that in the early mid 90's

my favorite budget setup for the period (and even now) was using junkyard e or f series radius arms, relocated oem arm brackets and (at the time radical adjustable 2-7/8-3-1/4 camber bushing for the d28) the bushings then were the most expensive part and hard to get, but for the 28 and 35 these days rock auto has them real cost effective.....this setup for v8 swaps is ideal for guys wanting cost effective reasonable lift. theres plus and minus to it, but for most guys with decent shade tree ability it can be a saturday 100-200 dollar job.

with oem powertrains its a bit trickier. trimming the coils to suit need is trial and error.

theres lots of options as well, using pipe flanges for lower seats allows use of sas 150 coils, of jeep coils etc...

Right on, they ought to be pretty sharp.

yes they will work. if they are well worn they wont be too stiff either...thats why i like junkyard coils that arent to rusted. remember you will also want to make a retainer strap if you have longer shocks for sure. a long j hook made from some strap or adapt oem 250 retainers. i usually use the oem retainers. definatly need camber bushings.

these are e250 coils installed on 2 inch spacers

just remember fitting a bigger/taller spring is tricky and will require shock removal jack-stands and likely a spring compressor and some pry bars....

when trimming the cils use a cutoff wheel on a grinder and only take 1.5-4 inches measured round at a time..from the top or in this application the big end
