So my signature rig could use a new set of coil springs. They are getting old and weak. I also want to get rid of the factory rake. My question is, I can get a set of 4.0 springs cheap. how much higher, if at all would the 4.0 springs make my 2.3l sit. I assume because they are a higher weight capacity they will sit higher, just how much?

you may gain .5-1" from the bigger springs.

If 4x4, grab '91-94 Explorer coils, they're the stiffest available stock... I have two sets I'd get rid of cheap but shipping would make that expensive as you're on the other side of the country...

Moog has a oem set for 70ish. I may just do those and a two inch leveling kit. Seems to be the best way out.

That two inch rake is killing me. haha

go to a bolt store and get 1-1/4" (they have 1-3/8" holes in them that you need to go around the spring bolt/stud) non plated washers and put them under the spring pads, don't buy spacers, washers are cheaper , I have like $2.50 in my 1" spacers which give like 1.5" lift.

The thing I would be worried about putting Explorer springs is the truck would ride very rough.Isn't there an aftermarket spring that's 2 inches higher?I hate the rake your talking about too.
