So I was on car-part.com looking for replacement leafs for my 98 Ranger 4x4 and it has a bunch of different options

  • EV (elec vehicle) Right
  • EV (elec vehicle) Left
  • exc. EV; (code), F
  • exc. EV; (code), C
  • exc. EV; (code), K
  • exc. EV; (code), E
  • exc. EV; (code), 3
  • exc. EV; (code), B
  • exc. EV; (code), N

How do I know which code I have, how do I know what the other codes mean? I currently have 3 leaf per spring (well two leafs and an overload) I would really prefer more leafs with the same load capacity or maybe slightly more.

if you look on your door jam on the tag, look under SPR and match it to one of the codes you've listed

Okay so the door sticker has the code for the springs the rear is the second letter the front is the first letter. that makes sense.

Get Springs from an explorer if you are replacing them. It will let you get rid of the factory block...

what about load carrying capacity?
